Thai

The Thai language, or Siamese language, is a Tai-Kadai language spoken by about 65 million people primarily in Thailand and parts of Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia. It is the official language of Thailand, and is also spoken in the southern provinces of China.

Thai is a tonal language, with five tones that can change the meaning of words. It also has a complex writing system, which is based on the Pali and Sanskrit scripts. Same word can have different meanings depending on the tone in which it is spoken. The Thai script is an alphasyllabary, which means that each character can represent a syllable. The language is written from left to right and there are no capital letters.
